myDriveway Guarantee - New Driveways

  • We will prepare the driveway area to ensure the substrate is suitable to place concrete

  • We will plan the location of expansion cuts, joints to ensure we keep any future cracking to a minimum*

  • We will use no less than SL82 steel reinforcing mesh for your driveway

  • We will use no less than 25mPA for the strength of your concrete

CRACKING - NEW SLABS

   myDriveway acknowledges its rights and obligations, when it comes to cracks in concrete slabs. Cracking by nature of the rigidity of the material, will do its best to show up on any concrete slab. myDriveway will do its absolute best when it comes to managing cracks that normally show up in a concrete slab by way of applying control joints and expansion cuts where appropriate. It is important that the client acknowledges that soil or substrate condition, weather conditions on the day of the pour, the condition of the concrete being delivered, the weather conditions on the days following the pour are all variables out of the contractors hands. These along with a few others are conditions that ultimately affect the overall long term finish of your concrete driveway.

As professional contractors, we best manage these conditions through experience. Knowing how to treat the concrete in any one of these given variables so as to avoid cracks and other elements that may show up on your slab in the future.

CRACKING - SLAB RESURFACING AND REPAIRS

​

myDriveway will not guarantee that any cracks from an existing slab will be PERMANENTLY removed and will not re-appear. Our stance, when it comes to concrete resurfacing. Our position is that a "live" crack in a slab will re-appear at some point in the future. A general, "hairline" crack or other, may or may not reappear in the future.

We use premium products and some of Sydney most experienced applicators. We are honest enough to talk about both the strengths as well as the limitations of the products and resurfacing techniques. This is an education process for clients to understand the limitation of concrete resurfacing. And to be able to spot a bull

 

Will your existing slab look great when it is finished being resurfaced my myDriveway? Absolutely 

 

Will the surface that has been sprayed adhere to my old slab? Yes it will with the correct treatment and technique

 

Will the cracks that have been present in the slab for the last 20 years be gone? Yes, for a short while, but in time, they will inevitably reappear. The force of the concrete movement is greater than the resurfacing compounds ability to withstand this force. And this movement is in shear.

How much does it cost for a NEW CONCRETE DRIVEWAY in Sydney?

The cost of a new driveway in Sydney generally depends on the following factors:

​

  • The size of your driveway

  • The slope of your driveway or the area you want concrete

  • How much excavation is required

  • The choice of different concrete materials (plain, coloured, stamped, stencilled, exposed aggregate)

  • Preparation of drainage

  • Site condition and the amount of preparation involved

  • Concrete, Rubbish or dirt removal

Caring for your Concrete Driveway​

To minimise your chance of your new driveway getting stained or ruined, we recommend applying a sealer once the slab is cured. To help prevent cracking, do not drive on is for at least a week. Other ways to protect your driveway:

  • Limit heavy vehicle or equipment traffic - Over 10 tonne

  • Avoid skip bins on the slab - they'll scrape and destroy the finish

  • Re-seal your driveway every 3 years to maintain the look and to protect the finish
